1. Screening: Screening is a critical feature of industrial wastewater treatment plants because it retains particles contained in the wastewater. These solids must be removed at the start of the waste water treatment process because they can make the entire system less efficient, damage expensive.
2. Mud trapping: A mud trap removes sediments (sand, mud, grit, settable solids) from the wastewater.
3. Oil & Grease Trap: An Oil and Grease Trap also known as Grease Trap, Grease Interceptor is a device used to trap oil, grease, food solids etc. from the wastewater.
4. Collection Tank: The collection tank collects the effluent water from the screening chamber, stores and then flow to the equalization tank.
5. Equalization Tank with Air: Equalization tanks are used in many industrial applications to reduce the peaks and flows in wastewater discharges from the production area as well as the pollutant loadings. The main purpose of air for mixing the wastewater thus we will get equal level of BOD, COD.
6. Neutralization with caustic (NAOH): The aim of neutralisation is to modify an acid or base water flow to a neutral pH. Neutralization used to treat acid wastewaters containing metals, the method comprising increasing the pH of the acid waste by addition of an alkaline reagent, to form a precipitate and collecting the precipitate. This way the incoming solution is pH adjusted to the optimum range for precipitating metals as hydroxides.
7. Reaction with Lime: Lime (Ca(OH)2 or CaO): Lime, or calcium hydroxide bonds with the other particles and increases the size/weight of the flocs which then increases the speed with which they settle out of the wastewater.
8. Coagulant with alum: Alum {Al2(SO4)3} is the coagulant of choice for many industrial and sanitary wastewater treatment applications. The chemical leaves no residual colour, is particularly effective at removing turbidity.
9. Flocculent with polyelectrolyte: Flocculation with polyelectrolyte in a waste water treatment process where solids form larger clusters, or flocs, to be removed from wastewater.
10. Settling Tank: A settling tank allows suspended particles to settle out of water or wastewater as it flows slowly through the tank, thereby providing some degree of purification.
11. Filtration with Multigrade sand filter: The Multigrade Sand Filter is a depth filter that makes use of coarse and fine media mixed together in a fixed proportion. This arrangement produces a filter bed with adequate pore dimensions for retaining both large and small suspended particles. Multigrade sand filter is highly recommended for the removal of suspended solids & un-dissolved impurities like dust particles & heavy metals etc.
12. Filtration with Activated Carbon filter: A filter with Coal activated carbon (CAC) is a proven option to remove certain chemicals, particularly organic chemicals, from water. CAC filters also can be used to remove chemicals that give objectionable odors or tastes to water such as hydrogen sulfide (rotten eggs odor).
13. Ultra-Filtration: Ultrafiltration (UF) is a pressure-driven barrier to suspended solids, bacteria, viruses, endotoxins and other pathogens to produce water with very high purity and low silt density. This treated wastewater reuse in cleaning , for processing as well in horticulture.
